KASHA-KATUWE TENT ROCKS NATIONAL MONUMENT 2025

In October 2025, we finally secured a reservation to visit Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. This hike is one of Jamielyn's favorites, though getting into the park has become more challenging. The park, which was once easily accessible, was closed for about four and a half years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, new land management strategies were developed. When it reopened, daily visitor numbers were limited to protect the area. It happened to be Jamie's birthday weekend, and with my sister and brother-in-law visiting, we seized the opportunity for a hike and took plenty of photos. It had been a long time since our last visit, so we made sure to reach the outlook at the end of the Slot Canyon Trail. The weather was wonderful, my sister and brother-in-law enjoyed their first hike there, we reached the summit, and managed to stay dry despite some rain. It was truly a memorable day. I highly recommend visiting Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument —Peabe
